Auburn-Folsom Road Class 2 Bike Lane – Granite Bay, CA

The primary objective of this Federal Aid Project (No. CML 5919 (104) was to establish a Class 2 Bike Lane from Douglas Boulevard to Joe Rodgers Road in Granite Bay. Included in the project was the construction of new curb, gutter, and sidewalk along both sides of Auburn-Folsom Boulevard.

As with many of our on-call contracts, Holdrege & Kull worked with the Placer County/HDR staff  prior to construction to develop a scope of materials testing that would satisfywould satisfy the project requirements and provide a budget. In addition, coordination prior to the project allowed for all the appropriate federally required documentation to be completed. H&K provided field materials testing of subgrade and aggregate base in preparation for Portland cement and Hot Mix Asphalt paving. In addition to field services,

H&K provided laboratory testing of subgrade, aggregate base, concrete, and HMA to verify compliance of the materials with the project specifications. As is common with many smaller projects, H&K was required to be flexible in the scheduling of materials testing, often responding to next-day requests and working after normal business hours in order to keep the project moving forward.
