Holdrege & Kull provided plans and specifications for temporary shoring of roadway near the community of Sawyers Bar in Siskiyou County. Three sections of Sawyers Bar Road were damaged by erosional landslides following extreme precipitation events during the winter of 2005/2006. A geotechnical report performed by others provided recommendations for mechanically stabilized earth (MSE) retaining walls as repair measures for the slides. H&K observed site conditions in 2008 and prepared plans and specifications for temporary shoring measures, including rock anchors, to facilitate excavation in the landslide areas for the construction of the proposed walls. This project was funded through California Emergency Relief for Federally Owned Roads (CA ERFO).
