In preparation for the addition of two new buildings to the Sutter Union High School campus, Holdrege & Kull performed a geotechnical investigation and geologic hazards evaluation in accordance with the requirements of the California Division of the State Architect (DSA) during the design phase. During the construction phase of the project, H&K provided special inspection services in accordance with DSA and the California Building Code (CBC) Chapter 17.
The new multi-use building is a single-story, 26,365 s.f. structure with continuous spread and isolated concrete footings, concrete masonry unit (CMU) walls, structural steel roof system and concrete slab-on-grade floors. The new two-story classroom building has an approximate ground level square footage of 10,311 feet and consists of wood framing with concrete slab-on-grade floors, spread and isolated footings, and an elevator. The project also included concrete sidewalks, an asphalt concrete paved parking lot, and a bus route roadway
